What the Acronyms Mean?

One of the most confusing things that you run into when first starting in business is the use of technical language and acronyms of that business. Below are some that you will find used in the OBC.

OBA = Online Business Alliance

OBC = Owner’s Business Center

F&P/FAP/FAP's = Friends and Partners

TE = Traffic Exchange

SAT = Splash-A-Thon

VS = Viral Suite

AGIT = A Glimpse Into Tomorrow

SBAV = Stop Being A Victim

SI = Stacked Income

VIP = Very Involved Partner

W2W = Word to Web

WIA = Web Impact Audio

MPV = Manual Payment Verification


AKA/a.k.a. = also known as

ASAP = As soon as possible

BCC = Blind carbon copy (when sending an email)

BTW = by the way

BRB = be right back (when chatting via an instant messenger or in a chat room)

CC = Carbon copy (when sending an email)

e.g. = for example (from latin: exempli gratia... It must be one of those "old boring offline generation" acronyms... )

FAQ = Frequently Asked Questions

FYI = For Your Information

GPT = Get Paid To... (usually referred to in phrases like "the GPT industry")

GPTR/GPTRE = Get Paid To Read Email programs (also see: PTR)

i.e. = "That is (to say)", "in other words", or sometimes "in this case", depending on the context. (another one of the "old boring generation" acronyms)

IM = Instant Message

IMHO = In My Humble Opinion (or In My Honest Opinion)

IMO = In My Opinion

LMAO = Laughing My *butt* Off

LOL = Laughing Out Loud

NP = No Problem

OMG = Oh My Gosh

OTO = One Time Offer (a script that shows a sales page or a discounted upgrade offer only once when you are trying to login to a member's area of some online program. Very popular among traffic exchange owners)

OTOH = On the other hand

PLS/PLZ = please (although it's so much nicer to spell it "please", and it only takes 3 more letters) Smile

PTC = Paid To Click (a program where members are paid to click on links or banners provided by advertisers)

PTP = Paid To Promote (an arrangement where members are paid to promote a special link, which rotates web pages and other ads provided by advertisers)

PTR = Paid To Read (a program where members are paid to read emails with advertisements, usually comes together with PTC and PTP "fixings".)

ROFL/ROTFL = Rolling On Floor Laughing

TLC = Tender love and care (OBA specialty Cool)

TTYL = Talk To You Later

TY/THX = Thank You/Thanks (same comment as on the "please" entry... Wink)

XOXO = Hugs and kisses
(also: ((((((((((Your name)))))))))) = a virtual hug to you)

TOU = Terms of  Use

TOS = Terms of Service
